Shiv Sena will not tolerate any force which was opposed to ‘Hinduvta’ and will continue to attach such tendencies, the Maharashtra minister of state for Home, Mr. Gajanan Kirtikar said here last night.

Addressing a gathering at a function organized by Sahyog Foundation to celebrate the 88th birth anniversary of Late Master Chander, Music Maestro of Sindh, the minister said BJP-Shiv Sena combine had come to power in the state only because the Hindus stood united.

The Congress, on the other hand, tasted defeat because it encouraged corruption and followed ‘Divide and Rule’ policy, Mr. Kirtikar said.

The Chairman of Sahyog Foundation, Mr. Ram Jawhrani, said Sindhis were scattered all over the world and the only way to strengthen their cultural bonds was to hold cultural programmes and literary seminars.

Mr. Nari Gursahani, President, International Sindhi Panchayats’ Federation, said music knew no boundaries, caste, creed and religion. Music understood the language of love which helped in promoting National Integration.

Mr. Nanik Rupani, Chairman, Priyadarshini Academy said Sindhis were successful in all spheres of life because they had integrated well with other communities in the society.

The function was symbolic of National Integration. Popular playback singers, Udit Narayan Jha, Anup Jalota, Sulakshna Pandit, Mahesh Chander and Gope Chander from U.S.A. rendered their performances in Sindhi.

Sahyog Foundation, a socio-cultural organization, has organized a Cultural Programme on January 12, 1996, at Rang Sharda, Bandra, to celebrate the 88th birth anniversary of Late Master Chander, renowned poet and singer of Sindh, its Chairman, Shri Ram Jawhrani, said in a statement here today.

Master Chander is a household name in the Sindhi Community in India as well as abroad. With his melodious voice and memorable poems Master Chander was instrumental in soothing the feelings of Sindhis when they migrated here from Sindh after partition.

Eminent artists such as Anup Jalota and Sulakshna Pandit shall perform in Sindhi at the Cultural Programme to pay their respects to Master Chander, Mr. Jawhrani said.

Prominent Sindhi Artists, Ghansham Vaswani, Mahesh Chander, Gope Chander, Kajal Kewalramani, Sheela Mangtani and Ram Navani will regale the audience.
