Hum Ek Hain 1992

Film star and M.P. Mr. Sunil Dutt, had lamented that certain vested interests were dividing the people in the name of religion and urged the masses not to be carried away by such parochial forces who were out to undermine the unity and integrity of India.

Addressing the gathering at a function on National Integration “Hum Ek Hain” organized by Sahyog Foundation last night, Mr. Dutt said “Ram”, the hero of epic Ramayan, was a symbol of sacrifice and instead of emulating him certain forces were dividing the people on Ram Janmabhoomi issue.

Mr. Dutt said National Integration was the need of the hour and lauded the “Hum Ek Hain” movement launched by Sahyog Foundation.

The former Sheriff of Bombay, Mr. Nana Chudasama, said India was a secular country and had always stood as an example to the rest of the world as a harbinger of peace.

The Chairman of Sahyog Foundation, Mr. Ram Jawhrani, described Mr. Sunil Dutt as “Shanti Doot” (Apostle of Peace) and called upon the youths to emulate him and strive for the unity & integrity of the country.

Welcoming the dignitaries, Mr. Jawhrani said Sahyog Foundation was committed to promote National Integration and urged the masses to strengthen the “Hum Ek Hain” movement launched by the Foundation.

Folk dances of Assam, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Orissa and Gujarat were staged on the occasion.

Film Star, Sudha Chandran, Music Director, Ravindra Jain, popular humorist, Salil Chaturvedi gave memorable performance.

Recipients of Padmabhushan award, Pandit C. R. Vyas, Dr. R. D. Lele and recipients of Padmashree award, Kalyanji Shah and Anandji Shah of Kalyanji-Anandji fame, Mr. Gulabdas Broker and Mr. Homi Talyarkhan were felicitated on the occasion. “Samaj Shree” award of Sahyog Foundation for social service was conferred on Mr. Durgesh Chandra.

Artists of Chanakya TV serial were presented Sahyog awards by Shri Sunil Dutt and Ram Jawhrani. The programme was compeered by Film personality Tabassum.
