Dr. Fehmida Hussain Felicitation

Wellknown Educationist of Pakistan, Dr. Fahmida Hussain, has advocated the need for awarding capital punishment to the perpetrators of crime against women.

She was replying to her felicitation accorded by Sahyog Foundation, a socio-cultural educational organization, here last night.

Women in Pakistan have been given freedom to undertake education resulting in their overall development and becoming self-reliant, said Hussain, Director, Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai Chair, University of Karachi.

More than 50 percent of the students in Chanka Medical College at Larkana are girls, she said.

Addressing the gathering, Ram Jawhrani, Chairmna of Sahyog Foundation, said exchange of culture and literature will bring the people of India and Pakistan closer to each other and strengthen the bond between them.

Dr. Hussain was presented with “Sindhu Ratan” award of Sahyog Foundation comprising a trophy. The award was presented to her by Ashok Advani, President Hyderabad (Sind) National Collegiate Board, Jhamatmal Wadhwani, Chairman, Vivekanand Educational Insitution, Eminent Writer Kirat Babani and Dr. L. H. Hiranandani, Senate Member, University of Mumbai and Ram Jawhrani, Chairman Sahyog Foundation.
